Abstract
Conventional catalyst materials contain precious metals such as
platinum, rhodium and palladium in order to meet new emission
regulations. As regulations for exhaust emissions become
increasingly strict, the amount of precious metal has increased in
catalyst materials.
In this work, various multi-component oxides were prepared to
ascertain whether they would pass emission regulations. A new
concept for the oxide catalyst was found to reduce the amount of
precious metals used. The oxide catalyst designed with the new
concept has excellent properties of high catalytic activity. The
aged oxide catalyst also shows high catalytic activity as well as
the fresh catalyst.
