The Detection of Knock Location by Multipoint Pressure Measurement

The method to detect knock location was developed, which utilized the arrival time delays of the pressure wave between several pressure sensors in the combustion of the gasoline engine.
In this method, the time delays derived from the time-frequency analysis. The calculated knock location by the least square method satisfied the result of the experimental time delays in a minimum error. This method was applied in various conditions in a single-cylinder engine, showed the effects of weak stratification with a port injection and a direct injection.
