In addition to the requirement of crush safety improvement in recent years, a demand for a material-saving measure because of soaring material price is increasing.
This study shows the body structure enables high-efficiency energy absorption without weight increase by improving on a frame structure to be conformed to the rear-offset crush test mode introduced in North America. And an appropriateness of the structure is demonstrated by CAE and experiments.
