Abstract
An overview description of the V-22 Electrical Power System is provided. A discussion of system issues and possible areas for improvement to the system based on lessons learned and technology improvements will follow. Boundary conditions for the electrical system improvement considerations will be established. Several ideas for potential improvements will be discussed.
The potential improvements will address system performance enhancements, weight reduction, improved reliability, improved maintainability, and improved testability. Reduced recurring costs and reduced operating and support costs would also result. Means to improve system diagnostics and status reporting will be discussed.
The information provided herein is the result of recent trade studies performed by the V-22 Electrical Integrated Product Team.
