Relations between changes of reaction time and those of the event-related brain potentials (ERPs) due to mental fatigue were examined. A Go/NoGo task, which indicates the same tendency of increase of reaction time due to mental fatigue in both actual long-time driving and laboratory tasks, was used in the study. Some types of ERPs were influenced by fatigue and they suggested that the effect of fatigue on brain activity differed among information processing.
