Comprehensive Technological Development of Innovative, Next-Generation, Low-Pollution Vehicles~The Study of NOx and PM Reduction Using Urea SCR Systems for a Heavy-Duty Diesel Engine

To reduce NOx and PM emissions from a heavy-duty diesel engine, urea selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system with catalyzed diesel particulate filter (DPF) were studied. Urea SCR system is composed of oxidation catalyst, catalyzed DPF, SCR catalyst and ammonia reduction catalyst. Modified SCR catalyst improved NOx reduction performance at low temperature. Urea SCR system is evaluated at transient test mode (JE05). Urea SCR system with DPF achieved high performance for NOx and PM reduction.
