Abstract
50 cm3 two-wheeled vehicle, which complied with the second exhaust gas emission regulation in Japan that had been enforced in October 2006, was developed. An electrically controlled fuel injection system was adopted for fuel supply. An exhaust gas purification system that combined the feedback control with heaterless O2 sensor and a three-way metal catalyst was adopted. A secondary air induction device was disused by controlling an air-fuel ratio in stoichiometric including an idling region. By reducing the exhaust gas density before making aftertreatment and achieving the higher purification rate, an exhaust gas emission including an idling region was complied with the second exhaust gas emission regulation in Japan.
