Abstract
In this study, the nonlinear model of single Hydraulic Engine Mount (HEM) including inertia track and decoupler is presented in two cases, with and without bell plate. Based on the presented models, the corresponding governing equations are derived. Then, for a six degree of freedom four cylinders V-shaped engine, governing equations of the engine supported by three inclined HEMs (with and without bell plate), are obtained. Time domain nonlinear equations of motion have been solved and for various engine speeds, engine motions and transmitted forces are obtained. In addition, frequency responses of the system are determined for a range of engine speed. Finally, effectiveness of the bell plate on vibration behavior of automotive engine supported by HEMs is studied. Obtained results indicate that the bell plate improves the performance of the mounts at engine speeds near the resonance frequency of fluid column of HEM.
