Adaptive Restraint Systems~The Restraint Systems of the Future

Severe injuries for all occupants are declining year by year. Even if we have already reached worldwide a very high level of passive safety standards the amount of consumer and legal requirements in passive safety is still growing. Detailed in-house surveys showed that in the past the benefit for small-statured people was not as good as for an average-statured occupant. Therefore we are developing an adaptive safety restraint system which can be adjusted to different occupant sizes. With this system we can further reduce occupant loading according to their size.
