Development of Solid Particle Counting System for Engine Exhaust Emission
Published May 01, 2006 by Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan in Japan
Event: JSAE Spring Conference
A prototype of solid particle counting system which consists of a heated diluter, an evaporation unit, a cold diluter and a condensation particle counter, has been developed to measure particle number in engine emissions. The configuration of the system is based on the recommendation from the Particle Measurement Program, PMP. Particle emissions from gasoline vehicles and diesel vehicles equipped with/without DPF were measured by the system. The particle counting system demonstrates good repeatability and good sensitivity, and it shows a high potential in the low particle emission measurement in near future.
