Abstract
Brush Wellman Inc. began its Lean Six Sigma program in 2001. Since that time, 178 projects have been completed and 76 Green Belts, 29 Black Belts and 5 Master Black Belts have been certified. The original program goals were highly focused on eliminating quality problems that had plagued various production facilities for many years. Recently, the focus has shifted to Lean Manufacturing, eliminating waste and leveraging the benefits of the improved quality made possible by numerous Six Sigma improvements.
