Abstract
The choice of MOSFETs is important criteria for applications that use MOSFETs in linear mode operation. This paper is intended to provide an overview of the phenomenon of “hot spotting” under linear mode operation which can be found in automotive applications such as HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning) and the auxiliary heater for diesel engine management.
