Abstract
In this paper, a planar six-bar rack-and-pinion (RPS) steering linkage is analyzed. A set of kinematic relations is derived to analyze the kinematics of a planar RPS linkage. Both the popular configurations i.e., standard and central-outrigger, are considered. Based on these equations, a program has been developed in MATLAB, and the results are obtained. Furthermore, the models have also been developed in ADAMS software to verify the results.
