Abstract
This article describes a structured approach where Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) are used in combination to improve product quality. Its advantages and drawbacks are investigated. At the end, several recommendations are listed for a successful application of the tools.
