Abstract
Electric aircraft actuators are assumed to permit lower weight and less maintenance. One problem identified with electromechanical actuators is the possibility of “jamming”. Low weight, highly reliable anti-jamming devices based on Electrically-initiated Explosive Devices (EEDs) are presented. EEDs have been used in aircraft for several decades for purposes such as bomb release.
