In this paper, the authors discuss a driving simulator that was developed to study a driver's mental state in a traffic accident occurring between vehicles at an intersection as well as the condition between ECG (electrocardiogram) data and driver's behavior while driving. In experiments, subjects are induced to think about something else during part of their driving time. The experimental results indicate that accidents may be often caused by the driver's heart rate being lower than usual before entering an intersection.
