Study on Components Operation State for Hybrid Transit Bus Under Beijing Driving Cycle

The driving cycle has great effect on fuel economy and development of control strategy for the HTB (Hybrid Transit Bus), which is caused by the operation characteristics of frequently starting/stopping and acceleration and deceleration for the HTB. Based on the developed Beijing driving cycle by oneself and the Program of Demands (PoD), the operation state for components such as engine, electrical motor and battery was detailedly analyzed respectively in this paper. At the same time, the operation points and torque distribution for engine and electrical motor were analyzed also under Beijing driving cycle, which supplies reference for studying components characteristic and instructing components design. The useful curves for electrical motor torque versus time and battery current versus time were put forwarded respectively also, which provided the test process for electric motor and battery.
