Abstract
Modeling and simulation of (nonlinear) ac-dc multi-pulse converters with dynamic loads is addressed. The concept of nonlinear loads, i.e., the relationship between the current harmonics and system power factor is first reviewed. The analysis of power quality in an aerospace application in which a load with dynamic power profile is fed by a 6- and 18-pulse ac-dc converter is then presented. Simulation results using hierarchical tools for the system analysis are provided.
