Abstract
Nearing completion is a multi-year project to develop a dictionary of anthropometric classical landmarks and many new types of real and virtual dimension origins and terminations that were selected to assist with digital human modeling issues. Collectively, these are titled “Anthropometric Dimension Delimitations.” Designated AIR 5408 by Committee G13 on Human Modeling Technology and Standards, the dictionary provides: recommended and alternative titles, old and new abbreviations, detailed descriptions and line drawings. Included are over 350 point landmarks and more than 20 each of reference lines, reference planes and joint centers of motion useful for design and verification of computer human models. An instructive introduction is provided, together with a glossary of general terms, references to dates and sources of past titles, and visual indexes.
