Abstract
This paper describes the system engineering approach towards the design, development and validation methods for a microcontroller based wiper motor control system. Powered by an 8-bit microcontroller, the system learns on the fly the consumer-wants. The micro controller drives a low-noise relay and the entire module is mounted on the CJB. With the stalk being the only interface between the consumer and the system, it enables indiscreet variation of the intermittent dwell time and along with a pre-wash delay, provides an anti-dribble stroke post a fixed interval delay of the wash wipe function. With no increase in the complexity of the vehicle's electronic/electrical architecture and with little on cost, this feature upgrades the typical conventional wash wipe control.
