Abstract
The topology optimization made a great success in structural design optimization. It is time to expand optimization technique to non-linear fields like fluid, heat transfer and crashworthiness. The one of the most important technologies in auto industry might be two since 1990: Crashworthiness and Environment. To the best of author's knowledge, the crash phenomena have not captured well yet to achieve reasonable optimization form so far. Since the rail and frame is made of thin-walled structure, it is necessary to capture the complicated dynamic deformation of material like buckling. In this dissertation, based on homogenization-based density method, X-frame design - optimal structure - is proposed based on crash simulation and analytical math model capturing large deformation of mild steel of thin-walled: visco-elastio-plasto-buckling through optimality criteria and constraints of mass.
