Abstract
With the introduction of increasingly sophisticated electronics in modern vehicles, it is easy to see how the functionality provided by these electronics is becoming richer and more complex. To provide this functionality, a telematics system relies on collaboration with off-vehicle computers. This creates the requirement for an efficient, reliable, and secure communications framework suitable for use over wireless networks. This paper will discuss how a modern messaging system combined with Java Message Service can be a strong base to build upon.
