Abstract
In the coming years automotive sector is about to witness a dramatic change by way of type of steel, design and fabrication methods. The paper discusses the changing quality requirements of auto sector and the material requirement of the segment in the coming years. Recent development of Ultra Light Steel Auto Body (ULSAB) structure to minimise the weight of car body and the future program of ULSAB AVC (Advanced Vehicles Concept) has been highlighted. The measures by SAIL to meet expectation of customer has also been presented.
