Abstract
This paper presents a simulation software allowing the automotive designer to predict repairable system reliability during vehicle concept development. The software uses Monte Carlo simulation to virtually test many systems. Reliability is estimated using a Non-Homogeneous Poisson Process (NHPP). The software program computes rate of occurrence of failure (ROCOF), incidents per 100 (I/100), reliability and the trip reliability. These parameters are calculated either considering all the test samples as a single ensemble or allowing the user to group the systems into smaller test sample sizes.
