Abstract
The drastic increase of exchange and use of information through Broadband, Internet and Wireless solutions have a tremendous influence on the way people live, work, and play. In the near future, the automobile will certainly become an integral part of this enhanced information society. As traditional car electronics are transformed by the new information exchange mechanism, its architecture must adapt to the new information paradigms. However, car specific unique properties remain valid in order to preserve the car's quality, longevity, safety and security at affordable cost.
