Abstract
Electronic control of a car comes to be completely performed, after a microcontroller is born, and it has already come to pass through no less than 30 years of history. The contents of control has become complicated, microcontroller also is high-integrated and accelerated operation frequency, and it has a greater hope also for the role which should be played in future automobile electronics in the meantime.
On the other hand, the microcontroller which is carried out high-density integration and high speed has a risk of being potentially inherent in various faults. It is becoming more important parts than the former when securing the reliability of the automobile system by which various applications are developed with the microcontroller,
In this paper, about the microcontroller which has big influence on the reliability of an automobile system at large, the technology and technique which turns to the reliability reservation by chip design, production, evaluation and inspection, at the example one microcontroller product which attained high reliability developed for engine control, are introduced.
