Abstract
In this study for the DME compression ignition engine with low-pressure injection by electronically controlled injector, the influences of the fuel pressure and the swirl were investigated for the improvement of the air availability. As a result, high thermal efficiency was obtained with the stable combustion at a fuel injection timing around TDC because of the increase of the fuel pressure and the swirl. The prospect of the fuel supply system in the DME compression ignition engine with low-pressure injection can be expected at the same time. Moreover, full load performance testing was examined to investigate the effectiveness for the DME compression ignition engine with low-pressure injection. Consequently, it was clarified that the excellent engine performances were obtained at the low load region in this experiment condition.
