JAMA (Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association) is working with the related industrial organizations on the establishment of a system for administrating performance criteria specified by JAMA for the forthcoming ILSAC ATF specifications. Absence of an official management system for performance evaluation of ATF in Japan was the driving force for the activity. Objective of the system is to enable the performance tests required by JAMA to be as reliable and fair as possible. This paper describes outline of the system and its current status.
