Abstract
In Poland and in other countries reformed diesel fuels have been produced since the early 80s [1, 2, 3, 6]. The distinctive feature of reformed diesel fuels is the fact that in the final stage of production they are subject to a deep hydrorefining process. This leads not only to the substantial decrease of sulfur contents in the fuel but also to the change of many physical chemical parameters concerning for example cetane number and fuel viscosity. The change of these parameters influences the course of working process in a diesel engine and particularly the course of a combustion process. That leads to some technical problems connected with the use of reformed fuels in engines of earlier design. The course of selected combustion process parameters in the engine fuelled with reformed fuels has been presented in the paper. The tests have been carried out both in steady - state and in transient conditions. The analysis of test results, and particularly the influence of physical chemical parameters of the fuels being used on the engine operation has been made.
