Abstract
To systematically support knowledge intensive processes becomes increasingly important in order to realise competitive advantages. Up to now mainly those processes were optimised, which are characterised by reusable, deterministic, structured routine sequences. In opposition to this it was only paid little attention to the systematic support of knowledge intensive processes in the value chain. Especially the product development process is one decisive knowledge-intensive process within the value chain.
Thus it is the aim within research projects at the Fraunhofer IAO to develop a concept to identify key knowledge at an early stage and to integrate and provide the process-based knowledge already in the early phases of the product development process.
