Abstract
To eliminate the noise in the fuel tank it is important to understand the phenomena of sloshing. However due to the complexity of the fuel flow in the tank, the problem is not easily solved. It is very difficult to analyze and examine sloshing without performing experiments with a prototype of the tank. Furthermore the experiments are expensive and make the design process long.
To meet the necessary requirements HORIE METAL has started to establish practical techniques using calculation methods. Coupled analysis simulations with interaction between fluid and structure models in order to predict sloshing have been conducted for a few years now. The simulation results are in agreement with the experimental results and research is continued to increase the accuracy to be able to reduce the number of experiments and shorten the development period.
