From road to rig: Vehicle simulation on powertrain testbeds including wheel slip

Abstract
Realistic load and speed profiles matching real vehicle
measurement data from testtrack are essential for transferring
tests from track to testbed (road to rig). However, conventional
simulation techniques neglecting the effect of the tire wheel
system have some major leaks. Therefore an extended vehicle model
as well as a tire wheel model with real-time capabilities is
introduced.
Based on these models, a new approach for vehicle simulation on
dynamic powertrain testbeds is presented. Additionally the hardware
requirements are mentioned and some measurement data from a first
application are shown and completed by simulation results.
