The new multi-link front suspension for rear-wheel-drive vehicles combines superb handling and stability with a comfortable ride. Handling, stability and ride comfort are improved by optimizing the link layout, which separates the two lower links and a long upper link without protruding into the engine compartment. A shorter engine compartment and front overhang are achieved by reducing the longitudinal movement of the tires. The suspension weight is reduced by using aluminum for all links and knuckle-arms and by rationalizing their shapes.
