Abstract
Integration of management systems allows suppliers to benefit from synergy effects in their efforts to cope with the ISO 14001 certification requirements for their environmental management systems (EMSs). Integration of new management systems, i.e. ISO 14001 into an already existing system, such as ISO 9001/QS-9000, is the most common scenario. This paper outlines methods that follow this common scenario and could be used by small- and medium-sized companies for the integration of management systems.
