A research of fuel injection system for low emission motorcycle

To control air-fuel ratio by high accuracy, the emission decrease system for a small motorcycle, which used fuel injection, was researched based on four-stroke engine of displacement 100cm3. Fuel injection is controlled by two maps of injection amount used properly according to the openings of the throttle, the engine speeds, and intake pressure, a small fuel pump of power saving type was developed to improve fuel economy. In addition, the control system to obtain an excellent startability by the kick-starter was also developed. By adopting these developed systems, hydrocarbon was decreased by about 1/20 of the regulation value provided in the motorcycle emission regulation in Japan compared to the base engine, and the fuel economy has improved by approximately 20%.
