Test bed system for indicating and visualization~Methodology, examples and benefits
Published November 01, 2000 by Institution of Mechanical Engineers in United Kingdom
Thermodynamic analysis and conventional testing provide a fast and well understood rating of a combustion system's development status. As they identify system deficiencies against desired targets they also define the need for systematic techniques and procedures to support engine development. This paper presents a methodology to integrate unconventional stand- alone techniques into a diagnostic test bed system. It provides examples to demonstrate the requirements for and benefits of the systematic application of modular diagnostic components in combustion system development. It shows how conventional indicating and complex optical techniques form well defined diagnostic modules within an open, modular test bed system.
