Abstract
The many and varied constellations of accidents and accident speeds demand restraint systems with enhanced adaptivity. The pressure-controlled venting hole is one step toward such a solution. It enhances the effectiveness of the restraint system without worsening the biomechanical loading values in out-of- position cases. Further development of the pressure-controlled venting hole will lead to airbag systems with a gas vent in the module.
