Abstract
A description of the V-22 Aircraft Electrical Power System is provided. The AC system consists of isolated constant frequency and variable frequency power systems. Each AC generator package contains an integral Generator Control Unit (GCU) for voltage regulation, system control and status. DC power is derived from regulated AC to DC converters. The converters also provide DC system control and status. A 24 AH sealed lead acid battery is also utilized for emergency DC power. DC system control includes unique Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) starter power curves and battery charging features as well as logic maximizing make before break switching. System survivability features will be discussed.
