Abstract
From a safety point of view, the size of deceleration areas and the position and specification of barriers on circuits are a major concern of the FIA.
In order to define the size of these areas and the type of barrier to use, the FIA has developed a software called Circuit and Safety Analysis System (CSAS), the development and application of which are the subject of this paper.
