Abstract
Claas Industrietechnik (CIT), the component company in the Claas group active in the market segment of agricultural machines, looks back on 12 years' experience in the development, production and use of continuously variable transmissions. This paper summarizes the company's experience and presents TRAXION, a new model range in transmissions that has resulted from it. Beginning with the target markets and vehicle applications, it will demonstrate the demands made on the transmissions, the concept chosen and the manner of operation. Moreover, the presentation provides insights into the electronic controls and their development. The contents of the test program, the test stands and vehicles required as well as preliminary results will round off the picture.
