Abstract
A single-chip car radio IC (NICE-PACS) has been realized that is suitable for global applications. Different regional requirements can be met by software setting of receiver parameters. Integrated adaptive filters increase the FM channel selectivity and provide free Weather Band selectivity. The high speed adaptive PLL and the control algorithm allow inaudible quality checks for RDS. The IC requires few external components and no mechanical alignments.
