Abstract
In recent years, some passenger cars have vehicle behavior control system by braking force control. However, tractor-trailers have unstable behavior such as jack-knifing and trailer- swinging during a critical cornering operation or an emergency evasive maneuver. We studied about the system when applied to tractor-trailer. This system stabilizes vehicle behavior to apply the yaw moment and decelerate the vehicle by an active control of braking force on each individual wheel of vehicle. This paper confirmed the effectiveness of this control and the limit of this control by simulations and vehicle tests.
