Abstract
Rubber is a thermosetting material and as is generally considered difficult to recycle, but there is a demand for the development of rubber recycling technology to protect the environment and save resources. The continuous devulcanization technology was developed based on shear flow stage reaction for sulfur-cured EPDM. This technology consists of screw-type reactor with appropriate conditions. There are certain advantages such as 1) high productivity, 2) similar physical character with virgin material, 3) good surface appearance after revulcanization. This technology was applied to the automotive parts with in-process scrap and will be great part of rubber recycling.
