Development and structure of networked commercial vehicle systems
Published November 04, 1999 by Verlag Des Verein Deutscher Ingenieure GmbH in Germany
Starting from mostly mechanical control systems, a wide acceptance of electronic control systems in the commercial vehicle took place in the '80 decade. The initial use of standalone systems was more and more replaced by networked electronic vehicle systems. Initially, vehicle electronics were mainly used for the implementation of increasingly complex functions of the drivetrain management. More functions are being added today, with increasing safety and comfort requirements; new concepts for solutions and new technologies are necessary.
This presentation describes the development of electronic systems in the commercial vehicle and future structures of electronic networking.
