Wet steam analysis using Eulerian method for two-dimensional droplet growth and nucleation rate equations

The droplet nucleation and growth rate equations have been developed in Eulerian form. These two equations are solved in conjunction with the standard Euler equations for 2D flow. All the equations are solved using a total variation diminishing (TVD) approach along with explicit time stepping. A different time step is used for the nucleation rate equation, compared to the other equations, in order to make the scheme robust and more accurate.
The numerical scheme is tested against two cases:
(i) An analytical solution for a 1D converging-diverging nozzle;
(ii) The tip section of an LP penultimate stage moving blade over a range of exit Mach number.
The comparison is good for all cases.
