Abstract
This paper develops the mathematical model of transient thermal processes of aircraft cabins with the heat conduction in cabin structures calculated by the finite-difference method. Based on the mathematical model, a simulation program, FXD-CS, is worked out. A test setup is built to conduct thermal process tests with a full-scale cabin to verify FXD-CS. The predictions correspond with the experimental data quite well. FXD-CS can be used to calculate static and transient cabin heat load, to simulate the transient thermal characteristics of aircraft cabins, and to provide the thermal characteristic parameters of the cabin for designing and evaluating aircraft environmental control systems.
