Abstract
Mastics are used as components of automobiles and as remedial fixes to some problems which become evident after assembly. This discussion is to inform the engineer by giving them better insight into what mastics are all about, so that he/she will be better able to select the proper mastic for a specific application. This paper will also include some history of mastics, formulating techniques, and advances made in mastics application and performance.
