Abstract
Tailored blanking is the production of blanks by welding
together blanks of different quality, thickness and coating.
Tailored blanks can be formed into car body parts by drawing in
double-action presses or single-action presses with a cushion
system in the press table. In comparison to the drawing of normal
one-piece blanks this process causes a number of problems. In this
paper, the optimization of the drawing of tailored blanks will be
discussed. The research project 8982 was sponsored by the European
Research Association for Sheet Metal Working e.V. (EFB) and
supported by the "Association of Industrial Research
Organizations" (AiF).
