Abstract
A report on the Mini-Tunnel of Twin-Orifice Type has already
been presented at the JSAE and the ISATA in 1990. This paper
describes the development of some new devices to enable using
Fractional Sampling Dilution Tunnel so called the Mini-Tunnel in
engine development. These devices include an Automatic Orifice
Changing Device (AOCD) able to be set in a short time according to
engine swept volume, and Pressure Control Device (PCD) which
maintains the Split Ratio (SR) constant.
In particular, to maintain the measuring accuracy of
Particulates, a Pre- Alarm Diagnostic System is used with which the
signals from many kinds of sensors installed in the Mini-Tunnel
System are calculated with a computer.
