A new SAEINDIA collaboration aims to help young engineers acquire “industry-ready” skills

The Indian auto industry is the third-largest in the world and is poised to become first in small vehicles and engines by 2022. In accordance, several initiatives have been undertaken by the government of India and major automotive industries to make the country a leader in the vehicle market.

So there is an increasing need for industry-ready engineers equipped with outstanding skills and equivalent knowledge. Knowledge comes from learning, but “skill” is how we apply the knowledge for a desired outcome. Engineers acquire considerable knowledge through theoryduring their foundational and professional engineering education. But many may not be successful in applying their acquired knowledge to practical work-this demands “skills.”
